01Inside the mound
Dolmen de Soto is one of the largest passage graves in western Europe. Upright stones form a long corridor beneath an earth mound, with engravings and painted traces surviving on several surfaces. Its scale is best understood slowly, from the narrow entrance rather than from an aerial diagram.
02Why it belongs on the route
The journey west links sites that used landscape, stone and ritual in very different ways. Soto provides a strong first chapter before Cancho Roano and Almendres. From Madrid it requires a committed crossing, making fuel, weather and a realistic arrival window part of the story.
03Visitor-first planning
Access conditions can change and the interior is sensitive. Dust Pilgrim will follow the site’s visitor rules and will not assume that professional filming is included with normal admission. Confirmed booking information and original route notes will be published after reconnaissance.
