Menga is monumental even before its age is considered: immense stones, a deep chamber and an axis aimed at a mountain rather than the sun.
The Dolmen of Menga belongs to the Antequera megalithic landscape. Unlike many Iberian monuments aligned with a celestial event, its axis faces Peña de los Enamorados, the mountain whose profile resembles a reclining human figure. That relationship between structure and landscape is the reason for the journey.
Antequera is reachable from Madrid in a long day, but the Dust Pilgrim plan treats it as part of a wider AndalucÃa chapter with El Romeral, Los Millares and the AlmerÃa desert. The motorcycle route will be chosen for narrative geography and safe progress, not simply the shortest arrival time.
Menga invites speculation because its scale is difficult to comprehend. The episode will begin with published archaeology: construction, orientation, chronology and the surrounding landscape. Interpretations will be labelled as interpretations. Practical access notes will be updated after the site visit.
